Kaimai Steel is a specialist engineering workshop based in Matamata New Zealand. We service the wider Waikato region as well as the Western Bay of Plenty. Our team offer a full spectrum service from design through to manufacturing, blasting, painting and assembly. Whether you are looking for help with one component of your product or for a full contract manufacturer we can help you find the best solution. Our manufacturing facilities are best suited to production of steel products up to 500Kg and we have a long history of manufacturing agricultural equipment for the New Zealand Farming sector.
1. One-off fabrication projects
Already have a concept or design and need help for a one-off project? Our team would love to help. We can work with you to scope and refine your design, cost your project and then build it for you.
2. Contract manufacturing and assembly.
Let us help you bring your product to market with our full manufacturing and assembly services. With over 50 years of manufacturing experience we know how to run production and assembly lines efficiently.

Our service is full spectrum meaning we can help at every step of the way from design through to cutting, machining welding, blasting and painting and final assembly. You choose how you want us to help; we can do it all or only part of the process!
Our process usually begins in one of two ways; you can come to us with just an idea, or with your own completed design.

After an initial consultation, we'll give you our feedback as well as a broad estimate of costs.
If you need us to help design your product, we'll go through an in-depth consultation process and then work on drawing concepts. In some cases the design process may involve developing working prototype products.
Once you are completely happy with the design, we can finalise project costing and present a final quote.
When you are ready we can then establish a production run and get to work building your project. We can do as much or as little of the process as you require.

Kaimai Steel has a 50 year history manufacturing some of New Zealand's most recognised and respected agricultural equipment. Our business started out in 1970 as Pearson Engineering and over the last 5 decades we've built a reputation for building tough loaders and tractor implements that can handle the daily demands of Kiwi farmers.

In more recent times we have also developed the Farmrite range of equipment which is exclusively available through Farmlands, one of New Zealand's largest rural retailers. In 2021 We changed our name to Kaimai Steel to reflect our ability to offer engineering services outside of the product ranges we have become famous for.

Today, we continue to produce a wide range of agricultural equipment and offer manufacturing services to businesses as a trusted, experienced supplier.

We’ve used Kaimai Steel for various things, for example, they’ve built 3 buckets for us of different sizes. We also use them for building our feeder bins for feeding our bagging machines (with chain conveyors in the bottom and a hopper) and also conveyors in general.
